The Death Of Riches

James 5:1-3 (KJV) - "Go to now, ye rich men, weep and howl for your miseries that shall come upon you.  Your riches are corrupted, and your garments are motheaten.  Your gold and silver is cankered; and the rust of them shall be a witness against you, and shall eat your flesh as it were fire. Ye have heaped treasure together for the last days."

I think one of the things that makes a LOT of rich people nervous is knowing that, despite all that they've done to put together massive fortunes, all of that wealth is about to be destroyed, and for most it'll never be recovered or return again.  For those who may not have their eyes open, or may not know this is coming, or even that it was predicted in the bible and through numerous modern sources, I'm sorry to inform you that there is a massive economic collapse coming; one that will impoverish everyone, rich and poor, the latter of which probably won't feel it as much, but it'll still bite.

So if you're trusting in riches in any way, shape or form, you're about to see your little "god" stripped away from you really soon.  Don't believe me?  How about you kick back, relax, grab a bucket of popcorn and watch Jonathan Cahn's teaching on the Shemitah and then decide for yourself if what I'm saying, or him for that matter, is right.  Call me a cook, or a doomsayer, but if history says that there will be a crash, and evidence points to it being the biggest ever seen, wouldn't it be prudent on your part to prepare?  So what happens if I'm wrong and nothing happens?  Then you just eat well for a while.  If I'm right, you'll still be able to eat after stuff falls apart, whereas the unprepared won't.

But all that aside, my goal of this post wasn't to make you a doomsday prepper or anything like that.  My point was to get you to understand that depending and trusting in your riches is a dead end road.  Only Christ can be trusted.  Only Christ can save you from every calamity.  Only Christ can save you from the greatest calamity ever: Hell itself!  So stop leaning on your riches, which are an idol and a little god with no power and no strength of their own, and start leaning entirely on Christ!  Without Him, you won't survive the coming years.  In fact, without Him, you'll hae far worse problems than no food or shelter.

Your riches are dead.  Trust in the only who not only lives, but can ensure that you too live forever, in Heaven with Him, and surrounded by riches, the least of which are far, far greater than the greatest riches of this world.
