One of the things I get a kick out of is how people look at my crazy life and say, "Your life sucks, I wish it were better." I then kindly thank them for their thoughtfulness and promptly remind them that, as a writer, if I had a normal life, I'd have nothing interesting to write about. :rofl
You should see the looks on people's faces when I say that. They think I'm nuts. But really, if you honestly think about it, that's entirely the truth. Without all the madness we go through, our lives would be boring and without inspiration. Now I'm not saying that people who have normal lives are boring. But rather, without those little bumps you run into, as well as the occasional brick walls, we'd have no inspiration on which to live our life.
Think about it. If people had it easy, would they have any reason to think about fighting dragons or saving the princess? If everyone had everything they needed, would there be any interest in buried pirate treasure, or striking it rich? If people already knew all they needed to know, would there be any reason to go off on a quest for knowledge or adventure? Sadly, no.
So when you sit back today and consider your crazy, sometimes difficult life, thank God for it, because the alternative is just as unconscionable as a morning without coffee. (well, for you coffee drinkers anyways. lol)
